When that shit appeared I just facepalmed and said to myself 'seriously?' it didn't fit the game at all, and made it feel childishly comic. Playing a game and getting most lore from notes is not very appealing if you ask me. Had they focused on making it more interactive, it would've been better. There was no moment where I literally was to goddamn scared to take a step forward, like I was multiple times in TDD. The game didn't really have any tense or dreadful moments. I'm a slow reader and when I was finished with some of them I had even forgotten what I was even in the game, took me out of the experience entirely. You can't pick up anything, most doors and drawers are locked. You could also pick up and explore almost everything, you could even enter rooms that had nothing to do with the lore, but made the game feel more alive and natural.ĪMFP feels more like a walking simulator with horror elements. There was great puzzles, scary monsters and intensly horrifying paths you had to make your way past. For me it stems from the experience of TDD.
